Here’s a bunch of stuff you can buy that features my work, some of which you might not know about!
First off is a reprint of my pokémon comics which are now being distributed through fangamer! Each copy comes with a sheet of stickers! (If you ordered from me over the summer and haven’t gotten your copy, let me know.)
Row 2: Shirts!
First is a t-shirt I designed for Bear & Walrus, which comes with a free download of their latest album!. Next, a t-shirt for Meatbun with a cute lil meat bun guy driving a kart. And the last one is from a while back (2010!), but I still love it a lot and it’s super soft. This one was made for Lion’s Share Industries, a really cool vegan-owned company that makes shirts that don’t suck. Printed on 100% organic cotton, with eco-friendly inks & dye :>
Row 3: Prints & Poster & Stuff
I still have about 20 copies of my “Girls < Pizza" poster (after that, I probably won’t print more). "DS Club”, which I made for the Fangamer Versus Attract Mode art show during this year’s PAX. I’ll post more about it later. And then the Tiny Cart Sticker Pack. Stickers you can put on your DS/3DS games!
Row 4: Comics!
I have a 2-pg comic in Secret Prison 7, a 4-pager (“Okinawa”) in š #10, and another four pages (“Zen Yogurt”) for Sonatina #1.
And I updated the store section on my website with all this info. Plus a little more. So you can check that if you forget.

Every now and then people ask me about my process, how I colour things in or achieve certain textures. I always mean to answer these questions, but it’s kind of complicated and it would be a bit time consuming.
So here instead are some pictures to do that job. A caveat here is that I rarely work the same way twice and every job is generally an experiment in figuring out new ways to work. But lately quite often my process is something like this.
Step one is to start on paper with ink or gouache. I scan that in and through some photoshop magic (selecting black and white channels and copying to layers) turn every piece into layers. These are actually all things I still happened to have on file. For my last book I made a little data base of rocks, trees and branches to use wherever I needed something. Think of it as a form of collage.
I very quickly put these things together for this demo. Then put every layer on a transparency lock (it’s in the layer window). The next step is basically just messing around with colours. I have a pretty large collection of custom brushes made from various ink and paint washes and splashes. You can basically just use those as rubber stamp to add colours and textures to your layers. This is where the transparency lock comes in handy, as you don’t need to select anything.
Finally I mess around with some adjustment layers to see if something interesting will happen to the colours I hadn’t planned on.
And that’s basically it.
